Title: Print Services Specialist
Reports to: Sr. Channel Marketing Manager

Compensation Range: $24.00-$30.00/hour

The company operates as two divisions, Decorative Finishing (DF) and Industrial Solutions (IS).
 

Position Objective

Wagner seeks a Print Services Specialist to support the in-house print services program and all support activities to have an efficient print room.  The Print Services Specialist plays an integral role at Wagner by working with internal departments and business units on print project planning and execution.  The Print Services Specialist works closely with the Creative Services Department on finished files and supports any overflow graphic design that is needed. Participating and managing in day-to-day operation of the Konica Minolta C8000 digital printer as the subject matter expert and by offering quality service and excellence regarding the demands of a print shop.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily activities of the in-house print services program.
  • Be a consultant on incoming print jobs and develop a plan to meet the goals of the print asset based on cost, schedule or overall goal, and offer a solution.
  • Operate the Konica Minolta C8000 with a Fiery Controller to meet defined weekly print volumes while hitting key deadlines.
  • Work in Wagner’s ERP system to manage inventory, new material setup, and purchase order submissions.
  • Interact with external printed material vendors for outside print production and to ensure policies, procedures, and standards are kept in place. 
  • Develop production methods to meet requirements for daily/monthly production print volumes and quality standards.
  • Efficiently execute specialized finishing using the Konica Minolta C8000 inline finishers, stand-alone cutter and three-hole punch.  
  • Maintain an inventory of print room supplies and parts needed for printer and finishing equipment repairs. Coordinate repairs with external vendors as needed.
  • Print specialty materials such as letters, brochures, sell sheets, reports, presentations, manuals, business cards, and posters, large format printouts, contact sheets, covers, and bulletins using the printer and plotter. 
  • Exercise quality control by assuring the published information is accurate, complete, and conforms to established standards and specifications to prevent rework.
  • Create reports of work in progress and completed work for review before distribution.
  • Design and manipulate graphics according to company standards and customer expectations for a variety of projects in collaboration with the creative services department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Relationship To Others
Team member working directly with the marketing department. Frequent contact with other departments under the Wagner and Titan brands and outside resources to ensure projects are properly executed.

Authority to do what is required to make sure that all systems are operating properly to meet customer expectations. Understand and create customized solutions to meet customers’ needs, providing moderate to high level troubleshooting.


Qualifications

Education and Experience
 

High School Diploma or GED required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by the hiring manager and Human Resources. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Desirable to have or have in progress, a two-year degree in graphic design, applied arts or visual communications.
  • Demonstrated experience operating high speed copiers/printers/scanners/ and binding equipment including the ability to coordinate tasks and maintain accountability for vital project functions. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge in printing papers, printing inks, varnishes, and other coatings. 
  • Experience working with an ERP system, such as SAP.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently and make independent judgements and recommendations with confidence. 
  • External, client-facing consulting experience.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a production environment and must adhere to all safety requirements. Occasional lifting articles such as file boxes or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects and tools frequently. A job in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with long periods of computer work and phone usage.
