Position Objective:    

The individual in this role picks and packs units and/or parts and accessories for shipment and operates various hand-operated equipment to fill customer orders. The team member will utilize equipment while performing tasks to include, scanning, filling, moving, staging, loading, locating, relocating, and stacking product.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, and/or distributed
  2. Helps to train Warehouse Associate I’s.
  3. Selects proper corrugate and packaging material to maximize safety of the shipment and minimize cost.
  4. Performs data entry into ERP system of finished shipment.
  5. Picks units and/or parts and accessories for shipment to customers by reading a pick document, and being trained to use a hand held RF Gun, or voice technology and validates accuracy of job orders by accessing computer system.
  6. Picks and packs shipments to be processed through small parcel, LTL, and/or TL shipping methods.  May consolidate orders with additional shipments as needed and packs and labels according to customer shipping and routing requirements.
  7. Operates hand-operated equipment to fill customer orders.
  8. Supports Inventory control in conducting daily cycle counts, delegated inventory tasks, and assists in process improvements.
  9. Demonstrates a willingness to complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned in order to support the overall organization.
  10. Other duties as required and assigned by supervisor.

 

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED); post-secondary education preferred. 
  • Must have at least 2 years of related experience.
  • RF scanner use, SAP experience preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  1. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and assembly aids and follow written and verbal directions.
  2. Average knowledge of and skill using Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
  3. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations such as to adding, subtracting, and dividing using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  4. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to use scanners for counting and inventory tracking and control.
  6. Ability to listen and be aware of production floor activity to support a safe and hazard free working environment.
  7. Ability to be objective and flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, work assignments and other interactions that may impact pre-established courses of action for completing projects and assignments.
  8. Ability to work extended hours and/or varying shifts as requested in order to maintain adequate coverage during hours of operation.
  9. Knowledge of Lean and Kaizan methods and practices and standard production safety protocol.
