Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs standard and repetitive assembly on production lines.
  • Operates a variety of shop machinery and hand-tools such as presses, custom tooling, air drivers, torque wrenches, and mechanized equipment to complete production work orders.
  • Participates in lean / 6S activities as required, maintains 6S standards, and assists in implementing improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including relocation to other stations, positions, and departments within the experience range.
  • Communicates directly with Lead and Supervisor to escalate and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.
  • Performs all types of assembly (including testing) on the line or at the bench.
  • Assists Team Lead and Assembler III’s to train employees in certain stations and processes.
  • Maintains self-sufficiency and expertise on assigned lines, functions, and stations.
  • Performs quality audits and end-of-line inspections as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

                                               

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • 1-3 years of assembly experience or demonstrated ability to perform the Assembler II duties. Equipment assembly experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to comprehend complex instructions and communicate effectively in English. 
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as adding and subtracting.
  • Ability to perform moderately complex repetitive tasks for long periods of time.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic knowledge of lean and 6S principles.
  • Significant experience working with assembly tools and mechanized equipment.
  • High attention to detail and demonstrated history of checking own work as directed by a quality control plan.
  • Ability to listen and be aware of production floor activity to support a safe and hazard-free working environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours and/or varying shifts as requested, including weekends.
  • Identify obstacles to achieving goals and contribute to discussions during root cause analysis.
  • Ability to be objective and flexible in adapting to changes in priorities.
