Pay: $25-31hr + profit sharing
Position Objective: The individual in this role will safely set up and operate a variety of CNC equipment to manufacture quality production parts in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely setup and operate full range of machine tools to manufacture production parts and components. Multi axis mills and lathes, mill-turn machines, Swiss lathes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area by following Wagner housekeeping requirements.
- File safety reports as required.
- Meet daily/weekly/monthly production goals.
- Follow inspection procedures and processes to guarantee the delivery of quality intolerance parts.
- Adjust machines, tools, and processes to continuously produce good parts.
- Enter data into an ERP system to track scheduled work, material usage, time expended, inspection data, scrap, good parts, PMs requirements, and any other department dependent KPI information.
- Complete daily/weekly/monthly preventive maintenance on equipment. File maintenance requests for support to keep equipment in good working order.
- Recognize, troubleshoot and report machine malfunctions, tooling difficulties, etc
- Provide ideas and implement manufacturing improvements, using lean principles, to drive cost savings.
- Works with internal and external vendors to order required items to complete assigned work.
- Safely operates forklift to move materials and swarf containers as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of technical training in related field or equivalent years of work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 4+ years of work experience as a high level CNC setup and operator.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Safely sets up, loads programs, proves out, adjusts, maintains, and operates all assigned equipment to meet production requirements and goals.
- Works well with others in every situation.
- Ability to be flexible in changes to priorities.
- CAM software knowledge preferred.
- Understanding of GD&T of blueprint specifications.
- G-code understanding required (EIA/ISO).
- Strong problem solving, analytical, mechanical, math and communication skills.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow machine setup instructions.
- Ability to use a variety of precision measuring equipment.
- Adjust machines, tools, and processes to continuously produce good parts.
- Inspect parts using a quality control plan.
- Ability to use office applications (SAP, Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to work with internal and external vendors to order required items to complete assigned work
- Ability to work extended hours and/or varying shifts as requested to maintain adequate coverage during hours of operation.
- Ability and willingness to teach other employees new processes and techniques.
- Basic understanding of Lean and Kaizen methods and practices.
