Pay: $28-36hr
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Runs programs and conducts in-process part inspections on CNC Swiss Lathes.
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
- Replaces tooling and cleans collets as needed.
- Load materials into machines, cycle’s machine and detects malfunctions in machining operations.
- Changes offsets as needed to maintain quality and accurate part production.
- Inspects and deburrs parts to ensure they meet blueprints using proper measuring instruments. Collaborates with cross-functional team to perform root-cause analysis of issues.
- Maintains daily and weekly equipment maintenance and cleaning of machines and workspaces (Mopping, cleaning, chip spinning, parts cleaning, deburring).
- Strives to achieve daily production targets with quality products.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and post-secondary education in a technical field (or equivalent experience) required
- 5+ years of Swiss Machining experience
- 2 years of turning CNC programming experience
- 2 years of experience in a lead, coordinator, or trainer role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple and complex instructions, blueprints and drawings and follow written and verbal directions.
- Ability to perform shop math in addition to basic mathematical computations such as to adding, subtracting, and dividing using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Advanced knowledge of editing machining programs (G&M codes). Independently able to conduct took touch-offs and make machine adjustments to ensure part quality.
- Knowledge of and skill using Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen effectively and be aware of production floor activity to support safe and hazard free working environment.
- Ability to be objective and flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, work assignments and other interactions that may impact pre-established courses of action for completing projects and assignments.
- Ability to work extended hours and/or varying shifts as requested in order to maintain adequate coverage during hours of operation.
- Knowledge of Lean and Kaizan methods and practices and standard production safety protocol.
- Ability to operate CNC or manual machining equipment. Ability to independently program, set-up and operate Swiss Precision Lathes.
