Reports To:
Procurement Director
Position Objective:
Work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to develop and implement strategic management of specific commodity groups to achieve Wagner’s safety, quality, inventory, service, cost and production objectives. Responsible for supplier selection and development of supplier base. Negotiate, manage and execute contracts with suppliers.
Responsibilities:

Develop and implement key commodity strategies. Identifies, leads, communicates, and implements strategic sourcing requirements for assigned commodities. Included but not limited to; part and vendor analysis, pricing negotiation, and facilitating discussions with Quality and Engineering. Able to analyze supply base and make recommendations for best sources to achieve specific goals for the organization.

Leads a cross-functional team responsible for the supply chain management of a defined set of commodities. Is responsible for engaging suppliers to create relationships that are mutually beneficial to both companies. This includes but not limited to supplier visits, supplier reviews on safety, quality, delivery and cost, as well as transparency and ensuring an open dialog with suppliers, buyers, and internal departments to ensure a smooth flow of information (verbal and written).

Identify cost reduction opportunities under consideration of total cost of ownership; and be responsible for preparing and implementing information suitable for awarding by the Sourcing Committee.

Lead a cross-functional team to proactively identify, vet and on-board new suppliers as necessary

Responsible for contract management of all assigned suppliers including development, adherence and negotiation

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market condition and trends, carry out benchmark and procurement market analysis on a global level.

Identify and lead cross-functional process improvements within the Procurement area.

Resolve procurement problems such as interpretation of supply agreements, delivery or payment issues, specification of materials and invoice issues.

Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives
Relationship To Others:
Establish effective working relationships with other departments to ensure the smooth transition of information.
Dimensions of Position:
- Responsible for the strategic direction of assigned commodities to support the procurement of goods and services for manufacturing. This function includes, but is not limited to supplier selection and development; material cost control, cost reduction, supplier quality improvement and supplier delivery performance.
- Work with Buyer and Quality Engineer as part of the core team members for a Commodity Team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education:
- College degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
- ISM or APICS certification is a strong plus
Experience:
- Six plus years of experience in Procurement, Sourcing, and/or Strategic Supply-chain related field.
- Category management experience.
- Experience with international sourcing experience is a plus.
