Position Objective:

Internship position responsible for assisting the Production Director and Supervisors to achieve the below objective: Continuously improving production systems to ensure that daily operations are capable of meeting demand expectations. Must hold paramount achieving customer excellence and employee safety. Provide Supervisory team support in daily operations, develop and implement improvement projects in current assembly lines and machining areas.

 

DUTIES

  • Lead lean initiatives including demand-driven continuous flow, 5-S, and elimination of wastes through the use of lean principles
  • Track progress by the use of setting goals and tracking progress to ensure goals are met
  • Supporting the daily production expectations and plan with supervisors
  • Plan and execute standard work development with Manufacturing Engineers
  • Plan and execute shop transformation projects. i.e. full line relocations with operations team
  • Work with supervisors and operators to identify and execute cost reduction projects and/or ergonomic process improvements

 

Education and Experience:

  • In pursuit or has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Degree. Business Admin degree is acceptable for the Continuous Improvement Intern. Completed most or all upper division courses
  • Past work in an assembly environments desirable, not required
