Pay: $30-38hr

 

Position Objective:  

This role maintains all the electro mechanical needs of the production, office, and facility.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Works Safely at all times inside or outside of the building. Reports any unsafe conditions to a Safety Committee member.
  2. Install, maintain, and repair a variety of electro-mechanical equipment used in production, office, and facilities.
  3. Perform calibration activities to ensure compliance with equipment requirements.
  4. Modify and adjust complex equipment and instruments. Provide equipment support to improve performance.
  5. Perform regular and preventative maintenance on installed electro-mechanical equipment
  6. Troubleshoot complex problems associated with electro-mechanical equipment by following problem solving steps to find root cause of problem.
  7. Repair and calibrate hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies within a piece of equipment
  8. Diagnose issues with complex control systems, PLCs, and employ techniques to resolve them effectively.
  9. Fabricate replacements for unavailable parts until they can be procured from a vendor
  10. Performs electrical repairs and installations such as high and low voltage production equipment.
  11. Researches and recommends equipment needed to complete projects
  12. Regular participation in kaizen events plus related continuous improvement activities and training.
  13. Informs Supervisor of unresolved issues for guidance or request for additional resources.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Two-year degree in electrical or electro-mechanical preferred.
  • Special Boiler license is a plus.
  • 3+ years of related experience 
  • Valid Class D driver’s license
  • Forklift and man lift experience.
  • Previous experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple and complex instructions and follow written and verbal directions.
  • Strong hands-on based electro-mechanical aptitude including PLC and Control systems.
  • Use of trade mathematics together with the use of drawings, specifications, charts, tables, and handbook formulas. 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills including the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to operate manual and powered equipment and small hand tools
  • Ability to operate electrical troubleshooting equipment including a multimeter (VOM) in VAC and VDC.
  • Ability to diagnose, repair and maintain manufacturing, facility and grounds equipment.
  • Ability to listen and be aware of production floor activity to support a safe and hazard free working environment
  • Ability to work extended hours and/or varying shifts as requested in order to maintain adequate coverage during hours of operation.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Kaizen methods and practices and standard production safety protocol.
