In addition, this role is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s strategic business plans, including identifying and determining market potential for new and existing business channels, prioritizing these opportunities, and developing and executing plans to drive growth in the targeted areas.



Key Responsibilities Include


  • Manage, develop, coach, and motivate four Regional Sales Managers to ensure that a high professional standard is achieved.
  • Work with the regional sales team to train, support and assist in the sales of standard products through defined distribution and direct sales channels.
  • Provide on-the-ground support for Regional Sales Managers and help drive sales using various account planning tools.
  • Develop, manage, and grow key accounts.
  • Meet predetermined sales quotas including sales volumes and distribution growth requirements.
  • Identify and meet with engineered system prospects. Work with the regional sales managers and engineered system sales managers to help sell various projects.
  • Work with marketing and product management to develop appropriate product/service and merchandising support.
  • Lead the development and management of alliances and cooperation with strategic partners, particularly paint / coatings manufacturers and other related industries, to support Wagner’s growth initiatives, as well as leverage Wagner’s technological and product development expertise.




Dimensions of Position


  • The West Regional Sales Team Manager is responsible for managing the following Regional Sales Managers and their territories: North Central, Southwest / MX, Rockies, and West. The team manager understands that each regional sales manager is responsible for supporting and developing their own distribution, direct, and system sales channels. This involves working directly with prospective customers, supporting distribution sales efforts, and providing training for all products offered.




  • B.S. Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience.




  • Past responsibilities to include the process of hiring, training, motivating, and leading employees so they are productive, successful, and feel fulfilled.
  • Proven track record of accomplishing departmental objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities.
  • Minimum of (5) years of experience with industrial coatings application equipment, equipment sales, or equivalent.
  • Must have experience with these designated sales channels: distribution and direct.
  • Must possess strong knowledge and exposure in sales, marketing, and brand promotions.
  • Experience is highly preferred in the demonstration of industrial equipment.

  • Knowledge of industrial sales procedures and experience with distribution channel processes.
  • Position requires a minimum of 50% or more of overnight travel.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint with basic level of Word. 
  • Must have good negotiation/persuasion skills with the ability to bring others together and be able to reconcile differences. 
  • Understanding of financial statements and components of cost and margin.
  • Possess excellent speaking ability conveying information effectively to others.
  • Good critical thinking skills to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
