Warehouse Slotter

Position Objective:
The individual in this role works collaboratively with the Warehouse team to drive efficiency of the warehouse operation. This role ensures that parts are stored, replenished, and picked in the most appropriate warehouse area. The team member develops process flows and tools to boost the productivity of the warehouse functions; implements reporting and analysis of warehouse slotting and capacity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Owner of the storage, replenishment, picking and lineside inventory strategy in the facility
- Applies continuous improvement methodologies to replenishment and picking strategies and recommends suitable changes to manager.
- Regularly performs health-checks to ensure product is stored, replenished, and picked in alignment with our overall material flow strategy.
- Utilizes and further develops existing data warehouse tools for standardized data analysis
- Apply findings from data analysis to improve warehouse and manufacturing productivities
- Presents findings in easy-to-consume formatting, presents fact-based recommendations to leadership, builds what-if models, and partners with manager to monitor progress against desired business outcomes
- Maintains the WMS replenishment configuration in accordance to defined stock keeping strategy and to achieve identified improvements
- Assesses additional storage needs as required based on capacity analysis
- Supports planning and execution of day-to-day slotting process and other operational challenges
- Aids in the planning and documentation of both functional and technical business requirements needed to create improved and sustainable slotting processes
- Supports Inventory control in conducting daily cycle counts, delegated inventory tasks, and assists in process improvements.
- Demonstrates a willingness to complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned in order to support the overall organization. Assists with physical inventories and cycle counts, ensuring proper stock rotation
- Other duties as required and assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- 3 years’ experience with warehouse/distribution processes, layouts, systems, and designs and ability to obtain forklift certification or license.
- Preferred experience in gathering profiling data such as: velocities, seasonal curves, inbound frequencies, and picking frequencies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Average knowledge of and skill using Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
- Ability to write policies and procedures.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen and be aware of production floor activity to support a safe and hazard free working environment.
- Knowledge of lean and 6S principles.
