Users of our efficient, reliable and cost effective solutions include final consumers, contractors and industrial manufacturing companies.  The company operates as two divisions, Decorative Finishing (DF) and Industrial Solutions (IS). 



The IS division is looking for an Application Lab Technician to support our Engineered Systems (ENSY) team that is headquartered in Plymouth, MN.   The goal is to deliver the desired customer service experience and drive service success that improves customer satisfaction and maximizes customer retention.

  • Safety is number one in everything you do.
    • Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic job responsibilities with reach and lifting equipment.
  • Demonstration Lab Support:
    • Schedule, assist with and perform lab trials, customer and industry trainings, and general housekeeping.
    • Collaborate with service team members and manager to ensure timely completion of lab trial reports and training documentation as needed. 
  • Service: Perform diagnostic troubleshooting on existing equipment either remotely via phone and other systems or on-site (individual items or assemblies in system for application).
    • Collaborate with service team members and manager on diagnosing errors, faults or other technical problems; determine proper solutions for the customer including timely and detailed service reports.
    • Use learned knowledge to support best practices documentation regarding equipment operation, preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Installation and warehouse tasks during slow periods in the lab and service, or as needed.
    • Pre-assemble system components in MN prior to shipment to customer.
    • On site installation support of Wagner powder coating systems in North America.
    • Assembly and testing of standard product and after sales (service) parts.
    • Assist with large equipment staging, annual cycle counting, etc.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization.
  • Operate vehicles in a safe manner (rental, company and other vehicles, forklift, scissor lift, etc…).
  • Follow all company’s procedures and protocols.


Requirements of the Position

  • Professional appearance considering the tasks to be carried out.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and potential for overtime and weekend duty.
  • Familiarity with standard hand tools and proper applications of each.
  • Aptitude for learning about basic industrial process automation / PLC systems.
  • Must have a valid driver license.
  • Must have a valid passport to be able to work in North America.
  • Position may require periodic travel; day trips up to 1 week on the road.




  • High school and 2 year Technical degree, certification or on the job experience preferably in the industrial application and finishing industry.



  • 1+ years, preferably of progressive experience in the paint finishing industry.
  • Experience and comfortable presenting to small groups desirable.



  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Familiar with SharePoint platform and AutoCAD a plus.
  • Use of Multi meter and common hand tools.
  • Organizational skills - calendar use, personal, lab and departmental. Timekeeping.
  • Communication – good in person, phone and digital presence.
