  • PLC Programming – Read and Modify programs and able to troubleshoot
  • HMI Programming- Read and Modify programs and able to troubleshoot
  • Wiring PLC and related equipment as well as box building and machine wide wire runs
  • Writing and maintaining easy to follow instructions for troubleshooting
  • Variable Frequency & Adjustable Speed drives and motor configuration and tuning
  • High and Low voltage power systems – 480 3-phase to 24 volt single and able to troubleshoot with a voltmeter
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering personnel to resolve problems.
  • The ability to discern cause and effect, and to tie multiple symptoms and indications to a root cause
  • Troubleshooting and repairing medium-complexity systems and equipment
  • Preventive maintenance as assigned
  • Determine root cause of electrical, mechanical, and software failures and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence
  • Provides advanced troubleshooting support including diagnosing and repair complex problems
  • Troubleshoot robotic systems, using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics.
  • Assist in design and construction of new controls and systems.
  • Recommends proposals for improving products, processes, systems, productivity and working environment.
  • Ability to design using CAD software.
  • Ability to work extended hours and/or varying shifts as requested to maintain adequate coverage during hours of operation to include a rotating on call tech support



  • Associate degree in Mechatronics Technology



  • 4+ years of progressive experience in New Automation design and development
  • Prefer experience working with PLC’s, pneumatics and electronics



  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft Office 2010, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Professional, MS Project, MS Access and MS Visio
  • Proficient in CREO and Solid Works
  • Uses logic and reasoning (critical thinking skills) to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Exercises good judgment and has the ability to make good decisions
  • Practices active listening to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Ability to manage one’s own time and can adjust actions in relation to others’ actions
