Facilities Associate - ENTRY-LEVEL

Position Objective: The individual in this role supports the operational floor to maintain a functioning waste stream, while assisting the facilities technician with given tasks. 

Schedule is 7am-3:30pm. Some Saturday's may be required. 

 

 

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Maintains operation plant floor waste stream by collecting items to be recycled via tilt carts; to be placed in trash and cardboard compactor and or bailer.

 

  1. Conducts and performs assigned job functions in a safe manner at all times. Reports any unsafe conditions to a Safety Committee member, or supervisor.
  2. Must be able to work independently and a self-starter.
  3. Required to be on their feet, walking and moving in durations up to 7 hours.
  4. Will be assigned and responsible for performing medial facility PM’s on weekly or monthly basis.
  5. Maintains records such as preventative maintenance reports, which also may include service requests, and equipment statuses.
  6. Support interior and exterior building and grounds to include minor snow removal, along with office maintenance.
  7. Responsible for cleaning operations floor using a floor scrubber.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned by Maintenance Lead.
  9. Seldom will be asked to fill bathroom stock, and perform minor janitorial duties.
  10. Will be asked to clean conference rooms, fill beverage fridges and clean office glass.

 

III. Qualifications

 

Education and Experience:  Drivers license. High School Diploma or GED is required. Experience with power hand tools is a plus.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple and complex instructions and follow written and verbal directions.
  • Must be comfortable operating a walk behind or sit down floor scrubber.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate powered hand equipment and small hand tools.
  • Ability to listen and be aware of production floor activity to support a safe and hazard free working environment. Will also participate in safety meetings to support safety initiatives.
  • Ability to work extended hours and/or varying shifts as requested in order to maintain adequate coverage during hours of operation.
  • Capable of lifting 40 pounds on a seldom basis.
  • Comfortable using a ladder, and understand ladder safety.
