Position Objective:

Develop an accurate POS, purchase and retail inventory forecast by major customer for utilization in driving production builds, customer reviews, and financial planning. Identify opportunities for growth and optimization by analyzing multiple data sources including macro-economic trends, competitive information, purchase history and margin, as well as retail POS, price points, and margin. Assist in product life cycle management, including new product pricing/modeling/elasticity, transition planning, and end of life build outs. Assist sales managers in executing business objectives based on identified trends.

 

 

 

  • Manage the development and maintenance of the Consumer Division sales forecast including analysis of customer forecasts, point of sale information, retail inventory levels, competitive influence, promotional activity, and sales history. Position is responsible for the distribution of forecast to planners and master schedulers to ensure inventory availability to meet our customer’s expectations including on time delivery.

 

  • Manage consumer reporting including monthly sales and POS dashboards. Develop a variety of ad hoc reports for sales department and management containing information needed for managing Consumer sales including category performance, promotional effectiveness, regional trends, market share information and competitive analysis.

 

  • Assist sales managers including Ecommerce team in developing and executing business objectives based on identified opportunities utilizing retailer analytic tools (Askuity/Stackline) to identify new sales opportunities/threats.   

 

  • Track forecast accuracy in order to help improve inventory management and proactively communicate with sales managers regarding inventory and forecast issues.
  • Work with sales managers on product life cycle management to effectively execute product transitions including build-outs and addressing E&O issues.

 

  • Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated.

 

 

 

 

 

Relationship to others:

Works with account managers, VP of Sales, product management and marketing to develop forecast and identify growth and optimization opportunities. Provides forecast to production planners to ensure product availability and finance for development financial forecasts. Participates in customer discussions with buyers and replenishment analysts regarding POS, inventory, and planning.

 

 

Dimensions of Position:

Works with confidential data such as costs, daily sales figures, customer pricing, customers sell out information, customer forecasts and business plans, budget information, and inventory.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Education

  • High school graduate or GED is required. A college degree is preferred.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in retail sales with emphasis on analysis, or equivalent experience.

 

Skills/Abilities Required

  • Requires advanced computer skills including MS Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Stratum Viewer and Demand Solutions or similar sales analysis tools.
  • Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Requires excellent analytical, critical thinking, and complex problem solving/reasoning skills.
